Part I, Laying the groundwork for the Fascist takeover of America

Many heaved a sigh of relief when George Bush left office, thinking the threat of a fascist regime was over. Not so. The destruction of our country is in the middle stages. It took Hitler almost ten years to seize total power in Germany. In America, a much larger and culturally diverse country, the process, while still the same, is taking longer to complete.

In Naomi Wolf’s book, “The End of America, A Letter of Warning to a Young Patriot”, she outlines ten steps that are used to seize and maintain power. The first is, “Invoke a terrifying internal and external enemy”. From the nineteen fifties to the seventies the external enemy was clear – commies. The problem with Communism being a viable sustaining threat is the inherent weakness of the system, weaknesses that are too easily recognized and defeated.

It is interesting to note even after reports have shown many of the Russian nuclear missiles were inoperable and the Russian bureaucracy incapable of even launching an attack many still believe Communism to be threat. Perhaps they weren’t paying attention when the Soviet Union attempted to invade Afghanistan. A futile effort that ended with their defeat at the mountain pass of Jaji when 200 Soviet troops, supported by bombers and helicopters, were beaten back by fifty Islamic fighters. The leader of the Islamic force was Osama Bin Laden, more on that later.

Except for some third world countries the only country in the world still claiming to be Communist is China. The country that owns most of our national debt and builds the cheap plastic crap we buy at Wal-Mart.

It should not have been surprising when in the early eighties then President Ronald Reagan defeated Communism without firing a single shot. Although to be more precise, the communist regime collapsed under the weight of it’s own corruption and incompetence. So one external enemy disappeared only to be replaced by a new one – Global Terrorism.

In fact by the early eighties this external enemy was already being created and identified. In the spring of nineteen eighty one the CIA produced reports that Libyan leader Muammar el-Qaddafi had plans to assassinate American diplomats in Rome and Paris. In response, President Reagan expelled Libyan diplomats from Washington DC and ordered U.S. Navy jets to shoot down any Libyan fighters found outside their country’s territorial waters. On August 19, 981, two F-14 Tomcats from the carrier USS NIMITZ shot down 2 Libyan warplanes which began a series of attacks against Libya and Khadafi. Much like Iraq however, Libya was never a serious threat to the United States.

Some alleged that the U.S. exaggerated the terrorist threat from Libya, in part because Libya was an easy target. The small country — Libya is about one-fifth the physical size of the U.S., and its entire population at that time was only 3 million or so — was and still is considered a minor player in the Middle East with no steadfast allies. U.S. officials denied Libya was used as a scapegoat, maintaining that it posed a credible terrorist threat against U.S. targets and that Libya had sufficient oil funds to mount a significant attack on U.S. interests.

Sound familiar? It should. It is the same blueprint used to send several hundred thousand U.S. troops to Iraq. A country that never attacked us, had no involvement in 911, does not possess weapons of mass destruction and treated it’s citizens better than many of it’s neighbors. Yet we invaded Iraq for all of the above reasons. And we stay there because the country is unstable since we invaded it.

‘Global Terrorism’ is the ultimate external threat. There is no clear defined enemy that can be confronted and defeated which allows the government to declare a never ending war. Unlike the subterfuge of 1984 where Oceania was and always had been at war with either Eurasia or Eastasia, (depending upon who they were fighting at the time) the government can always say with a straight face, “We are fighting terrorism, we have always fought terrorism”.

Early on in the steps which have led to our current on-going war against terror there has been a logical disconnect between what was said publicly and what was done privately.

In a Radio Address to the Nation on May 31, 1986 Ronald Reagan said
Effective antiterrorist action has also been thwarted by the claim that—as the quip goes—”One man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter.” That’s a catchy phrase, but also misleading. Freedom fighters do not need to terrorize a population into submission. Freedom fighters target the military forces and the organized instruments of repression keeping dictatorial regimes in power. Freedom fighters struggle to liberate their citizens from oppression and to establish a form of government that reflects the will of the people.

However, in a manual financed, produced, and distributed by the CIA titled “Psychological Operations in Guerrilla War”, violence up to and including murdering Government officials for ‘propaganda’ was encouraged. The manual also recommended
selective use of armed force for PSYOP [psychological operations] effect…. Carefully selected, planned targets — judges, police officials, tax collectors, etc. — may be removed for PSYOP effect in a UWOA [unconventional warfare operations area], but extensive precautions must insure that the people “concur” in such an act by thorough explanatory canvassing among the affected populace before and after conduct of the mission.

Many know of the Iran-Contra affair, well at least as much as can be known since many of the documents relating to the incident were destroyed, but much worse were the cocaine for guns deal brokered by the United States. Not only were lethal weapons put in the hands of Nicaraguan death squads but one of the most addictive drugs known to man was sold on the streets of America. By our own government.

Which leads us to the internal threat – drugs. Already an issue when Reagan took office in 1980 he escalated the issue to the current and never ending war on drugs, the topic for ‘America is Being Destroyed, Part II’.
