Feds Probe Blackwater Weapons Smuggling

WASHINGTON – Federal prosecutors are investigating whether employees of the private security firm Blackwater USA illegally smuggled into Iraq weapons that may have been sold on the black market and ended up in the hands of a U.S.-designated terrorist organization, officials said Friday. The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Raleigh, N.C., is handling the investigation with help from Pentagon and State Department auditors, who have concluded there is enough evidence to file charges, the officials told The Associated Press. Blackwater is based in Moyock, N.C.

A spokeswoman for Blackwater did not return calls seeking comment Friday. The U.S. attorney for the eastern district of North Carolina, George Holding, declined to comment, as did Pentagon and State Department spokesmen.

Officials with knowledge of the case said it is active, although at an early stage. They spoke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the matter, which has heightened since 11 Iraqis were killed Sunday in a shooting involving Blackwater contractors protecting a U.S. diplomatic convoy in Baghdad.

The officials could not say whether the investigation would result in indictments, how many Blackwater employees are involved or if the company itself, which has won hundreds of millions of dollars in government security contracts since the 2003 invasion of Iraq, is under scrutiny.

Blackwater Atrocities

Mercenaries paid with our tax dollars opened fire on Iraqi civilians recently. They killed 8 people and shot 13 more.
“They are untouchable,” one private soldier told the Los Angeles Times. “They’ve shot up other private security contractors, Iraqi military, police and civilians.”1
Now the Iraqi government has had enough, and has ordered Blackwater to stop work in the country. This morning the Iraqi Prime Minister demanded the U.S. use someone else to guard their VIP’s.2 Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has promised an investigation, but that’s not enough.

of Blackwater’s work is guarding officials from the State Department. They are among the most high-profile mercenaries working in Iraq, but hardly the only ones. An astounding 120,000 “private security contractors” are in Iraq, 48,000 of them working as combat soldiers.3 They get paid far more than real soldiers, their deaths are not included in the official casualty counts, and they are essentially accountable to no one, according to state department officials.

This is still America. We can’t hire mercenaries to fire on civilians with no accountability.

Tell Sec. Rice to put an end to it, and follow the Iraqi government’s demand that Blackwater leave the country.

Traitors Control Us

How can we as a nation get back to solid representation in government? A government that’s hears its people and responds. A government that cares about the daily struggles of those it is supposed to represent, the taxpayer, the voter.
It seems that the only voice heard in the halls of government are the voices paid for by wealthy companies. Some how America has been taken out of the voters hands and into the hands of a few powerful people. Their desires for better power control outweighs the voters.
I can only hope that more people wake up to what is going on and start to do a little research of their own into who controls this government and how it has been take from us.
The leaders of this once great country do not have the average Americans needs in mind when it acts. It is like a hungry beast that cannot get full. Those in power will not give it up willingly, nor will they do anything that does not help themselves first. We the people need to stand tall and say no more, we need to identify those traitors to this country and take what they stole from us and punish them like they would punish us.

Down in New Orleans

Hello, From Mc Cobb down in New Orleans. Been working here doing electrical work and rehab for over a year. It has been a real eye opener as far as how things down here are. It seems that investment opportunities exist, but that locals don’t seem to be the ones taking advantage of it. I have seen more Asain and Mexican people from all over the country desend down on this area in large numbers.
I can only say that you are not being told the whole story by major media. I don’t trust the police and have heard some terrible stories about how corrupt they are. In the world of commercial fishing, those guys will shoot you if you take their location, they will cut each others lines. In crab fishing New Orleans is the only place that 100% loss is recorded for traps (at $25 per trap x 500 traps ave) Thats alot of dollars. This place is going to change but I am not sure what it will become, maybe we will look back in 20yrs and say its the new melting pot for those born outside the USA borders.
I still think its such an adventure I could never walk away from all the opportunities I see. Think of it, it all needs to be rebuilt, even the social structure. Especially the social structure. Think about it. A place to start over, this time hopefully we make better choices.

Thoughts on 9-11

Sept 11,
Where are all the answers to all the questions? Why have we as a nation not brought this out to the streets. We talk all we can inside this web but why then has it not made it to the reality of our day to day lifes. Why is the killing still going on? Why have the people of this nation not charged the people who let 911 happen and profited by it punished for their crimes, Why have we let a family abuse its power and lie to the American people and cheat its way into office, None of this seems to matter. Where are you America. Wake up!!

The Question is…..

“How can a government for the people by the people exist when those that run it are controlled by the greed of a few business people?

The Answer is…

“It cannot exist. When a country that is controlled by less than 5% of the richest people that place their wealth before the peoples best wishes than it is not a government for the people by the people, it is nothing more than a land that is controlled by a few Kings and Queens.”

Word to the wise.

People are being killed every day while those who control the killing actually contemplate the profits that they will make. Do these people kill in your name? Is this how you think?

Ever heard of a company that chose to voluntarily doing the right thing instead of polluting the water, air, land or of harming the people of a community at the cost of losing profits? But how many times have you seen people come together to fight for what is right.

The point is..
A country’s actions should not be determined by a company’s desire to make money, but should be decided by what is best for the people.

“A good leader will sacrifice himself for his people, not the other way around.”
