RFID Powder?

Yep, you read that right. RFID chips now come in poweder form, 0.05mm x 0.05mm to be exact. The new chips are 64 times smaller than the previous record holder, the 0.4mm x 0.4mm mu-chips, and nine times smaller than Hitachi’s last year prototype, and yet still make room for a 128-bit ROM that can store a unique 38-digit ID number

Planned to debut in 2 to 3 years, these granule-like chips will most likely be used in anti-counterfeiting applications.

It is unlikely, especially at this level of technology, that these chips could be used effectively on living entities. However, this advancement does raise a lot of possibilities, and privacy concerns as well.
